Practice Description

I look forward to supporting you on your healing journey. Our focus will include exploring obstacles and unhealthy patterns, identifying ways to release them, and working on actions to grow into your fullest potential.

Life is full of change and challenges: the kids move out, you have problems with your mate, work demands go up, a loved one is ill or dying, bills pile up and your workplace is laying off workers… the possible list is endless.

When we are out of balance, life changes and challenges can feel overwhelming. When we take steps to become more centered and calm on the inside, these events become much more manageable. Imagine being on a large wheel with spokes. When on the outer edge of the wheel, you really notice the up and down motions as it turns. When you begin moving down a spoke toward the center of the wheel, the wheel is still turning, but you are less impacted by the ups and downs.

My counseling approach helps you take a look at your concerns from a holistic perspective that respects the links between mind, emotions, body, and spirit to become more balanced. We will jointly choose goals and steps to address your unique concerns. I use an eclectic approach that blends traditional counseling techniques with mind / body approaches.

If it suits your interests and needs, your sessions may include specific relaxation and body-centered techniques such as breathing techniques, meditation, or yoga movements. My background in kundalini yoga, life-force yoga for depression and anxiety, and breathing techniques (pranayam) offer tools to help address stress, anger, compulsive behaviors, depression, addictions, and sleep difficulties.

You should come to our sessions ready to explore, learn, reflect, and grow. If you find yourself lacking energy and motivation to help yourself, or fearing the potential pain and uncertainty of making changes, I will support you in finding ways to move beyond feeling stuck.

Clients served: adults of all ages and adolescents in individual, group and workshop settings.

Issues of concern include: anxiety, stress, depression, family problems, compulsive thoughts and addictive behaviors, anger, spiritual growth, and loss of direction and meaning.
